      "name": "Adrian Schiess. Aucune Idée",
      "description": "The publication Aucune Ideé is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at the Kunstmuseum La Chaux-de-Fonds. It deals with a hitherto lesser-known aspect of Adrian Schiess' work: his drawings. While the artist has been known since the early 1990s primarily for his large, colourful flat works (floor panels, referring to as “paintings”), which he also showed at the Venice Biennale in 1990 and documenta IX in 1992, his works on paper have not received the same attention. However, they form the essential counterpoint to a deeper understanding of his approach. Since the beginning of his career over forty years ago, Adrian Schiess has drawn daily. He tries to reflect his surroundings on paper, very directly, with a gesture devoid of virtuosity or preconceived ideas. While his coloured panels only made sense if you observed how the light reflections moved on their surface, the artist forces himself to become a reflective panel in front of a sheet of paper. This extensive - several drawings were created every day for decades - and almost unknown corpus opens up Adrian Schiess' work to more complex and intimate questions: how can an artist at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries deal with or contain his subjectivity without denying it? If the general consensus is that a work of art is a personal reflection of its time, is it the time that passes or the weather that prevails? The book and the exhibition are therefore conceived like a drawn diary that breaks with linear time. For while the calendar days follow each other regularly, the years jump back and forth",

      "description": "Rinde is the most recent artist book by Daniel Knorr which contains handmade flexographic prints, drawings, and photography as well as an essay by the artist and an interview with him. Each book in this series is a unique copy. All flexographic prints have been applied directly to their pages by Daniel Knorr. They are imprints made from the widest range of silicone molds collected by the artist: on the streets of Berlin, in the Garzweiler open mine, at the Feldherrenhalle in Munich, in Hong Kong Disneyland, landscapes of the moon, from the Pont Neuf in Paris to the Bökelberg Stadium, which was demolished in 2006, every print includes an aspect of history. The photographs for each book were printed out by different people on different printers and then both cut into shape and pasted to the appropriate page by the artist’s own hand. All graphic works were drawn by hand specifically for each copy. Rinde ist das aktuelle Künstlerbuch von Daniel Knorr, das neben hangfertigten Flexodrucken, Zeichnungen und Fotografien auch einen Essay des Künstlers, sowie ein Interview mit ihm enthält. Jedes Buch dieser Reihe ist ein Unikat. Alle Flexodrucke wurden von Daniel Knorr direkt auf die Seiten aufgetragen. Es sind Abdrücke von den verschiedensten Silikonformen, die der Künstler gesammelt hat: auf den Straßen Berlins, im Tagebau Garzweiler, bei der Feldherrnhalle München, im Disneyland Hongkong, Landschaften des Mondes, vom Pont Neuf in Paris bis hin zum 2006 abgerissenen Bökelbergstadion enthält jeder Abzug ein Stück Geschichte. "name": "Jongsuk Yoon",
      "description": "The publication Jongsuk Yoon is dedicated to the practice of the South Korean-German artist, painted works that articulate her visions in ever more expansive formats since 2012. Her gestural, vividly colored “landscapes of the soul” are not merely representations of nature but poetically charged spaces of encounter where imagination, memory, and cultural affiliations overlap. In her painterly approach to Kŭmgangsan—the mountain range on the border between North and South Korea—the artist refers to the political dimension of historical murals. Oscillating between paradigms of East Asian traditions and Western modernism, Yoon’s transcultural visual language renders landscape, beyond national topographies, as a space of resonance where identity and a relation to the world can unfold. Essays by Heike Eipeldauer and Adam Budak, as well as a conversation between Jongsuk Yoon and Hans Ulrich Obrist, provide a deeper understanding of the artist’s work and situate her unique position within contemporary art. Die Publikation Jongsuk Yoon widmet sich dem malerischen Werk der in Südkorea geborenen und in Deutschland lebenden Künstlerin, das sich seit 2012 zunehmend in monumentalen Wandgestaltungen artikuliert. Yoons gestische, von starker Farbigkeit geprägte „Seelenlandschaften“ sind keine Abbilder, sondern poetische Erfahrungsräume, in denen sich Erinnerung, Imagination und kulturelle Resonanz überlagern. Mit der Annäherung an Kŭmgangsan – das Grenzgebirge zwischen Nord- und Südkorea – verweist Yoon auf die politische Dimension historischer Murals. In der Schwebe zwischen ostasiatisch",
